Just when I thought that I had the perfect start for my first college sembreak, comes an envelope from Trinity saying that all CAP cheques bounced. Crap!
As you all know, I am a CAP ‘scholar’. Scholar? Sheesh. I hate money matters especially when it involves school. I get all sorts of imagination - not finishing college and all that crap. Argh…
I had the perfect sembreak. Or so I thought. I was busy with John Grisham and his Pelican Brief and then came a perfect sembreak destroyer. Sheesh. I wish I had all the money in the world. I already talked to a CAP personnel and she said that everything has already been settled between them and Trinity. There’s really no problem because CAP will still pay for my tuition fees, I just need to spend a little cash for my transportation to get my assessment form and course curriculum from God-knows-where. Then, I’ll submit those forms including my CAP certificate to the CAP Main Office located somewhere in Makati. After 7 working days, I will be able to get hold of the cheque. I still don’t know if they will give the lump sum or just a partial payment. My problem is that I don’t know if I’ll be joining my block mates when they enroll. Getting myself enrolled in that stupid school entails a whole lot of days of going back and forth to CAP and Trinity and I know that my block mates wouldn’t wait that long just for my sake. Sino ba ako? Kapal ko naman kung ganoon yung iisipin ko di ba? How I wish that they would wait for me. I love my block mates and I don’t want to adjust to a whole new company by next sem. I just wish that… that… But, hello?!?! Who am I kidding? They still want to enjoy their sembreak and they would want to finish all enrollment stuff at an earlier time. Argh… Fudge! Argh… I just wish that I’ll wake up tomorrow having $999,999,999.00 in my bank account. How I wish! Darn! Money! Argh…
Argh…
Well, everything is just for the better. God has bigger plans for me.
Anyway, I am very proud of myself because I was able to read 3 books as of today. Yipee! Clap. Clap. Clap. The books that I’ve read were: Harry Potter: The Sorcerer’s Stone, The Guardian, and The Pelican Brief. Among the three, I liked The Pelican Brief the most.
The Pelican Brief by John Grisham
I’ve only read two books by Mr. Grisham, this was the second and The Street Lawyer was the first. This is way better than The Street Lawyer. The excitement was there but I didn’t quite like the ending. But, hey, its still a good read.
Over-all Rating: 9 out of 10.
I would love to see the movie so that I could compare which one is better. I know that Julia Roberts was the lead character and I think that the character she played would really suit her but I am not so sure about Denzel Washington. I think it would have been better if Michael Vartan or somebody else played the role of the news reporter. But of course, who am I to judge Mr. Denzel Washington? I haven’t seen the movie!
Harry Potter: The Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
This was a fun read. Ms. Rowling knows how to inject humor into her work.
Over-all Rating: 9 out of 10. And 10 out of 10 for the very shocking ending.
The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks
The Notebook, for me, is Nicholas Sparks’ best novel, so far. This wasn’t just my kind of coffee. Although, I still love the way he writes – simple – the suspense part didn’t work for me. It wasn’t bad. I actually loved the parts when the romance thingy was being focused. Sparks is good at the romantic stuff. He just wasn’t as good in writing the suspense thingies. It sort of reminded me of a Filipino movie that I saw or something like that. I don’t know. Ano ba magagawa ko? Gusto niya i-try magsulat ng pa-suspense eh.
Over-all Rating: 6.7 out of 10
I plan to read more books. The books on my list are: Harry Potter (Year 2 – Year 5), Interview with the Vampire, Feast of All Saints, The Alchemist (I still haven’t read this book!!! Waah!!! Kakaasar!!!) and of course, the BIBLE.
GOD Bless!!!
Uuy… Tonight sa Star World ang pilot episode ng A Simple Life. Basta yung kay Paris Hilton. Tsaka malapit na ang Season 4 ng Gilmore Girls. And, gusto kong bumili ng VCDs ng Alias from Season 1 – Season 3. Waah…
I can’t help but think of the CAP thingy!
Crap!
I just love the word crap…
Hehe…
Crap!
See... I just love it...
